Motongator Joe's, a three day country music festival that has been held in Wallace, MI for the past 10 years, has selected Prairie Village as the site for a second festival this year.

Prairie Village Manager Stan Rauch said the local board of directors has entered into a 10 year agreement with with Motongator Joe's to to allow the use of the Prairie Village grounds for the festival.

"It's exciting," Rauch said of the June 27-29 concert.

The event will feature numerous country music performers.  The schedule is still being determined, but Rauch said that one confirmed band is Highway 101.

Rauch said the buildings will be open during the concert; festival tickets will give visitors admission to the entire grounds.  Camping reservations will be set up through Motongator Joe's website.

"There's lots of action packed into those days," Rauch said.

The Michigan festival has been tremendously successful, he said, and they are hoping for a significant crowd for the Madison festival.

"The beauty of it being here is that there's no other festival of this caliber in the area," Rauch said.
